Your Txt2Give account has a setting that will allow donors the option of covering your transaction fees! By default, this setting is disabled, but turning it on is very quick and easy! Just follow the steps below...
Under the My Account heading, select Settings...
Next, click Edit, found in the menu button in the top right corner of the page...
Now, scroll down to the General Settings section and you'll find a checkbox next to an item that reads "Allow donors to pay processing fees" and a field to input "Donors transaction fee percentage"...
Just check the box to enable this feature and input the processing percentage amount that you will be asking your donors to cover. For instance, Stripe charges 2.3% for payment processing and many of you are on a Txt2Give plan that collects 1%. So, if you'd like to ask your donors to cover all processing fees, you'll input 3.3. If you'd like to ask your donors to pay a different amount, you can adjust this percentage accordingly.
When you've checked the box to enable the feature and have entered your transaction fee percentage, just scroll down to click the Update button found at the bottom of the page...
Once you have this feature enabled, our system will add a couple of additional text messages to the flow for your donors...
Important Note
We hope that you're excited about this feature and it's ability to possibly save your organization some money on processing costs. That said, it's important to note, there is not a way to apply the extra funds collected directly to your actually processing fees, but rather they will serve to offset your processing costs by generating additional funds.
